Be Prepared When Scuba Diving

Author: DiveMaster

4_00_sharkdivingWhen you go scuba diving, it is always important to be prepared. Make a checklist if you must of all the things you need to bring—from your wet suit and mask, to a reliable titanium diving knife. Although scuba diving is a fun sport, it can also be dangerous. Hence, you must always dive responsibly.

Make sure you are also wearing the right outfit for scuba diving. Those wet suits actually serve its purpose. Unlike ordinary swimsuits, they are made of neoprene. This material acts as an insulator. It aids the body in maintaining its temperature. As one goes deeper into the ocean, the temperature gets colder. If the body temperature lowers dangerously, this can lead to hypothermia. A wet suit prevents this from happening.

The Search for a Lost Continent

atlantis

In modern times, the story of the legendary island of Atlantis has largely been dismissed as myth. That certainly wasn’t the case in ancient times, however, when most of the world remained uncharted and virtually unknown. Throughout history, different sources have theorized that Atlantis once lay in the Mediterranean Sea or in various locations in the Atlantic Ocean.

According to an account from Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher and historian, Atlantis sank into the ocean following a failed military campaign on the part of its residents. Ever since, divers and expeditionary crews have traversed the globe in search of the kingdom at the bottom of the sea. Why not strap on your dive gear and give it a shot as well. At worst you’ll see plenty of underwater life and breathtaking geography.
